Welcome to Bail, the skateboarding community app for filming tricks, finding spots, logging sessions, and connecting with skaters worldwide.

Your privacy matters to us. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect your personal data when you use the Bail mobile app and related services.

We make this policy available inside the app (Menu → Info & Support) and update it when needed.

2. Who Bail Is For

Bail is intended for users aged 16 and older.

In countries where a higher digital age of consent applies, users under that local age must have parent or guardian authorization.

We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16.

We follow strict data minimisation — we only collect what is necessary.

We use your data only to:

• Provide core features (posting, discovering spots, social feed)
• Enable interactions (likes, comments, follows)
• Show nearby skate spots and sessions
• Improve performance and fix bugs
• Ensure safety and prevent abuse (e.g., spam, harassment)
• Comply with legal obligations

We process data on the following bases:

• Contract performance — to deliver the app and features you requested
• Legitimate interests — improving the app, safety, analytics (with balancing test)
• Consent — for non-essential analytics and precise location (when not required for core function)

• Contract performance: account creation, sign-in, posting content, social feed, and core app functionality
• Legitimate interests: service security, abuse prevention, product improvement, and diagnostics needed to keep Bail reliable
• Consent: optional analytics and optional precise location features where consent is required

Where processing is based on consent, you can withdraw consent at any time in app settings or by changing your device permissions for location. Withdrawal does not affect processing already carried out before withdrawal.

We only work with providers that have signed data processing agreements and meet our privacy standards. We share the minimum data necessary:

Most data stays in the European Union. When we use US-based providers (Mapbox, Sentry, Expo, Google/Apple), we protect your data with:

• EU Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs)
• Additional technical measures (encryption, pseudonymisation)
• Regular reviews of their compliance

We never sell your personal data.

We share only:

• With the processors listed above
• When legally required (court order, etc.)
• To protect users or enforce community guidelines (e.g., with law enforcement in cases of serious abuse)

9. User-Generated Content & Visibility

Bail is a public social platform. All content you post (videos, comments, profiles) is always visible to other users. You remain responsible for what you post. We may review content for moderation but do not claim ownership.

10. Data Retention

We keep data only as long as needed:

• Active account data: while your account exists
• Deleted content/account: immediate deletion
• Crash reports & analytics: maximum 90 days
• Legal or safety reasons: as required by law (e.g., 6 years for tax records)

You have the right to:

• Access, correct, or delete your data
• Restrict or object to processing
• Data portability

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority in the EU/EEA.

12. Account & Content Deletion

• Delete individual posts/videos anytime
• Delete your entire account in Settings → Account → Delete Account (irreversible; all personal data and content removed unless legally required to keep)

13. Safety & Moderation

• Block and report users/content directly in-app
• We actively moderate for violations of community guidelines

14. Security

We use encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, regular security audits, and monitoring. No system is 100% secure, but we take every reasonable measure.

15. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy. Significant changes will be notified in the app and by email (if you provided one). Continued use after notification means acceptance of the new policy.
